BCSC Invasive Cancer Risk Calculator mobile app
The Breast Cancer Surveillance Consortium previously developed a 5-year risk calculator for invasive breast cancer based on five risk facts (age, breast density, race and ethnicity, first-degree relative with breast cancer and history of breast biopsy and breast biopsy result), which is available on the web (https://tools.bcsc-scc.org/BC5yearRisk/calculator.htm ) and iPhone/iPad. This risk calculator has been used more than 300,000 times. We recently updated the model to include four new risk factors: age at first live birth, body mass index, second-degree relatives with breast cancer and menopausal status. The model is used to identify women for primary prevention and age to start screening. We would like to update our web-based tool and mobile iPhone app with our updated risk model and create a mobile Android app for this risk calculator.
The risk calculator would have a screen for entry of a woman's 9 risk factors. Based on the entry, it would use a look-up table to determine her 5-year invasive cancer risk.
