Project's details
Remote Control Solar Rover
The presence of solar energy continues to grow and in order to teach children of its capabilities a rover that uses toy parts as a chassis will be used in interactive exhibits. This is where children will design and test their own vehicles. All the electronics will be in a simplified enclosure.
A rover that uses solar panels to charge a battery that powers two motors will be the hardware for this project. These motors drive the front two wheels that will determine if the rover goes forwards, backwards, left, or right. We are using a PSoC 6 BLE prototyping kit to receive all the data from the associated sensors. Several of the datas such as battery power and velocity need to be displayed on the app. In addition, the user should be able to control the rover via bluetooth.
Develop an app that can be interfaced on a person’s phone so that they remotely control the motors of the rover. Display all the data including velocity, distance travelled since turning on, and voltage left in the battery. Control the voltage input into the motors using an interface to adjust the speed of the car(dial or pedal on the screen).
